The colors of 2021

The colors of 2021

During the fun times of 2020 people had an opportunity to evaluate the effect their homes have on them, and, unfortunately, work needs to be done. With 2021 approaching, the mood calls for chance (cries, I’d say). Here you’ll find a quick recap of 2021 colors as predicted.

The effect of colors on our lives can hardly be overestimated. Colors have powers to lift our mood, increase appetite, lift spirits or cast us into abyss of boredom.

Color trends are usually based on extensive research done by paint companies and predict the most popular colors of the next year. Different brands cater to different public and predictions usually reflect that. With Benjamin Moore being a bit mor conservative and Sherwin Williams a little more modern, one this is certain – the colors are gorgeous!

So, without further ado, I give you, the colors of the year.

Benjamin Moore

Aegean teal, a gorgeous blue-green color with plenty of character. Very easy on the eyes, yet striking, this color is universal and can be combined with pretty much other color.

Another color from the trend pallet I’d like to point out is Amazon soil – a stunning mauve shade with almost velvety appearance, it defines striking tranquility. Drama without the drama…

Silhouette is another color I am in love with, it is multi-dimensional dark grey that brings out the best in me with its warmth!

As always, Benjamin Moore color pallet is beautiful, with full bodied colors that don’t overpower, but empower.

PPG

PPG came out with three colors: Transcend, Misty Aqua and Big Cypress.Transcend – the old reliable beige, very neutral, very versatile, very calm, almost zen… Now I now how they came up with the name!

Tropical turquoise with aquamarine undertone would go well with light cream and neutrals, as well as light wood shades. It’s a beautiful bright color that would bring a bit of tropical paradise to any space

Big Cypress, an earthly tone of red, just like transcend, very calm and non-invasive.

I, personally, am not a great fan of the color pallet by PPG this year, I think their color predictions for 2020 were better.

Sherwin Williams

For the young and restless, Sherwin Williams presents Urbane Bronze, a very moody, dark color. As all dark colors, it pairs beautifully with light and wood tone shades.Be brave, be restless and welcome this color into your home. It’s warm hue and dark sophistication relaxes and gives space for creativity in your life.

Behr

Behr tried to tick all the boxes with their “Elevated Comfort” pallet. They issue 21 colors divided into categries: Casual Comfort, Calm Zone, Subtle Focus, Quiet Haven, Optimistic View and Outdoor Escape. So there, pick your own.

While it warms my heart to see some of my favorites (Saffron Strands, Nocturne Blue and Royal Orchard) included into the pallet, I think that the pallet itself is a little too all inclusive. The trend from Behr seems to be “whatever makes you feel good”. But then again, that’s the way to live, right?

Farrow & Ball

One of the most exiting color pallets is by Farrow and Ball called “Colors by Nature”: deep, earthy hues of all colors are the main theme. The world is moving towards comfort, tranquility and nature.

Beautiful shades of all colors cater to all tastes with one clear theme: quiet luxury. I really don’t know if I need to add anything, the colors do the talking.

Across all brands, one quality is constant – calm. We all need to sit down, relax and reflect on what 2020 brought us. And yes, you will need to remain calm…
